NRA Basic Pistol Certification 10-Hour Course $ 180.00

The NRA Basic Pistol Certification is designed to introduce the student to the working parts and operation of their firearm, safe operation of firearm and ammunition. It includes a detailed orientation in the cleaning, storing, and safe and legal transportation of your firearm. This course will also offer you knowledge in shooting fundamentals and positioning. We will also discuss in detail so you must understand before buying your firearm.

For those who have little ones in the household, we will inform you of the safety of handgun ownership taught by The National Rifle Association.

Basic Firearm Training Courses teach you the safety principles and help you develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude that are needed to successfully pursue your shooting interests.

We offer the most personalized comprehensive firearms instruction in Northern California.

FIRST (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training) Step is the latest addition to the NRA’s training programs for new shooters. It provides hands-on orientation to one specific rifle, pistol, or shotgun model in as little as three hours, including a one-hour shooting session on a range.

The FIRST Step Pistol Program is designed to provide training with one particular firearm model, preferably the participant’s (but not required). However, individuals who do not yet own a firearm may attend a FIRST Step orientation using a firearm provided by the trainer. Please keep in mind that alternate firearms economically fit you differently. You are on this website because you want to learn to shoot! After an in depth orientation period, we will have you on the range in a live fire situation, hitting the bull’s-eye with great excitement and with a rewarding experience.

What will you learn in an NRA basic course?

Using the NRA training method of Total Participant Involvement, basic courses provide hands-on learning opportunities in the following areas:

  • Safe firearm handling
  • Firearm parts and operation
  • Ammunition and its function
  • Shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range
  • How to select, clean, and store a firearm
  • Review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills

You would be certified to carry a handgun concealed on your body in 33 states (please see list) also you will have the needed training to qualify to carry in the non-approved states.

Who is Eligible?

Eligible individuals, nationwide, wishing to obtain a Multi-State CCW Permit, may now enroll for the Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Course.

Students meeting the eligibility requirements simply need to register online, by clicking on this “Enrollment” link (also listed at the top of this page). You will then be emailed a confirmation of payment along with further instructions. The course fee is $125.00

Note: A Permit fee of $59, to the Utah BCI, is required in addition to the Course Fee of $125.00 This is sent in by you along with your completed paperwork at the end of the course.

Upon successful completion of the course, your Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Application will be signed by the Utah Certified Firearm Instructor. All remaining instructions for completion of the application process will be provided to you at this time.
